Meet Franky – a loveable big boy that loves to cuddle and go for walks!
Franky always greets his foster family with big wet kisses and tail wags at the door. He is happiest hanging out with his people doing whatever they do. Franky LOVES people. As long as you pet him, he is happy!
Franky is 8 years old but acts younger than his age. He likes to be active and is always ready to go for a walk. He needs at least one hour of physical activity per day to be stimulated. Amongst other things, Franky loves to cuddle, to hang his head out the window during car rides, and is a bit of a dancer. For an old dog, he still has some tricks (sit, lay down, give a paw) and is learning every day. Although he hasn’t quite grasped the concept of giving the ball back yet, Franky is learning how to fetch. He LOVES to play!
Franky is a strong boy and can pull on his leash, but he does do well with his training tool. He’ll just need a bit more training to help him become the best version of himself! Franky is also crate trained, house trained and is non-destructive. He has no issues sleeping at night and would love to sneak up on to the couch, if you let him 😉
Franky can be reactive to new dogs which is why we recommend he finds a home where he can be the only dog. Franky can also be vocal when visitors approach the property and does bark at strange sounds, so slow introductions to new people and new situations are a must for Franky. He is a dog that enjoys his own space and as long as that is respected, he is a happy-go-lucky dog. Low energy environments are best for this boy!
Due to his size and strength, Franky would do best with an owner who is comfortable and confident with bigger dogs. Franky will need additional training to address his leash skills and his reactivity to other dogs, so an owner who has the time, patience and willingness to work with Franky on these issues is a must.
We know Franky needs a little work but with a firm owner and consistency, we know that Franky can excel and be an even more wonderful companion than he already is! And in return for all your hard work and effort with his training, Franky will be sure to reward you with lots of doggy kisses and cuddles!
Overall, Franky’s ideal home is one that is active and detached with an experienced owner who would love to work with a giant suck. If he can find it, Franky would also love somewhere with a yard to run around in, but this isn’t essential. As long as Franky can get some snuggles, he’ll be the happiest dog around!
