Hi, I’m Jeff! I’m a very excitable guy who wants all of your attention. I have a bit of a silly side typical of retrievers and I’m a total love bug. I go for 3 walks a day and am still energetic when I come home! Some people may say 7 years old is time to chill out, but not me! I like to turn in circles or jump when I’m hyped up, and do funny derpy faces when I get good pets. I do like the occasional nap though, of course. And I like my human nearby so I can peek at them if something interesting is going on!
I’m great on leash and good with other dogs, housetrained and friendly to kids I meet on walks. I’m still working on my crate training and counter surfing manners as well as learning new commands and my name. My foster family has been really patient and kind to me as I learn these new steps and I’m really thankful for them. I’m looking for someone willing to continue this in my forever home. I’m very eager to please and a yummy treat will always get my attention.
I get a little nervous on hardwood stairs, so I would need a hand coming down. Going up seems to be no problem at all but I’d probably prefer carpeted stairs! I haven’t really enjoyed going to the bathroom in the backyard but doing my business on walks is no problem at all – so a backyard isn’t necessary.
My perfect family would be one that would spoil me with attention and love, be up for walking me several times a day, and continuing to teach me commands and manners. I also need someone committed to my grooming due to my long fur! Hope you’re not opposed to shedding…I’m just trying to give you little reminders of me around the house
