Hi, I’m Spike. I recently retired from dog sledding and am ready to find my forever home. I still have a long ways to go in terms of feeling comfortable in my new environment so I need a kind, patient, and confident handler.
I am crate trained and spend a lot of time in there. It’s my safe space. I scare easily and will head back in there quickly. My foster family is working on this with me. I do like to come out for scritches and my walks.
Considering that I’m a retired sled dog, I’m pretty good on leash. I’m easily redirect but watch out for those squirrels and bunnies. I do have prey drive and think that I should be allowed to chase.
