Meet Shamus! This baby in a big dog’s body is ready for his forever home. Shamus is always happy to see his people come home & is a big snuggle bug. He is happiest when showing off his favourite toys, leaning in for a cuddle or a little game of fetch. He will fall asleep in your lap with just a few pats on the head.
Shamus walks well on leash unless he sees a dog. He is dog reactive and is working hard on this. He has been around dogs before (currently lives with one) and could potentially make a friend in the future but things should be taken very slowly. He does resource guard food.
Shamus would do well in a quieter environment. He does have stranger danger and will bark at someone he doesn’t know. He does, however, warm up pretty quickly when presented with treats. Shamus is crate trained and this can also be used to help manage his stranger danger.
