Hi, I’m Mama, your full-time shadow, professional fetch champion, and expert belly-rub enthusiast.
My favourite way to greet my people is with what can only be described as a full-body wiggle party… usually while carrying a toy in my mouth because that makes everything more exciting. I bond deeply with my humans and am a total Velcro dog. I’ll follow you everywhere, lean against you for pets, sit lovingly on your feet, and curl up by your side whenever possible. If you pause for even a moment, chances are I’ll roll right onto my back with my belly up, politely requesting scratches. Just fair warning, I snore very loudly once I’m asleep (but it’s adorable)!
My energy is the perfect mix of playful and peaceful. I’m always up for a rousing game of fetch (seriously… I never get tired of it), but outside of playtime I’m pretty chill and love lounging near my favourite humans or window-watching the neighbourhood. If you work from home, you can expect to find me curled up loyally next to your chair all day long.
I’m not crate trained, but do great being home alone while you’re at work, though I truly prefer to be close to my people whenever possible. On leash I walk very well in my regular harness, but when I see other dogs I can get quite excited, I want to play and sometimes lunge from enthusiasm. My excitement can also bubble over during play sessions, which may include playful nibbling at shoes or hands during chase games, or grabbing at the leash if I get overstimulated.
Because of my size and enthusiasm, I can play a little rough, and other dogs don’t always appreciate my high-energy style, so introductions should be slow and thoughtful. With good management and structure, I could thrive with a confident dog friend who enjoys play.
One adorable quirk I have is tilting my head dramatically any time you talk to me, I take conversation very seriously. I also have a habit of nibbling or licking my paws, which may be a boredom-related comfort behaviour, keeping me mentally and physically engaged really helps with that.
My dream home includes a fenced yard where we can play fetch until I finally flop down in happy exhaustion, a comfy couch for endless snuggles, a window for neighbourhood patrol duties, and a family who loves being loved as much as I love loving.
