Hi, I’m Zena! a gentle, adventurous girl who just needs a little time to feel safe before my true personality shines.
When we first meet, I might hang back and watch you quietly, but once I realize you’re kind, I’ll come over with a wagging tail to say hello. Trust matters to me, and when I have it, I’m sweet, affectionate, and very loyal.
Walks are my absolute favourite thing in the world. I feel confident outside and love choosing our route, running instead of walking when I can, and stopping to sniff everything I pass. I don’t bark, and I enjoy seeing and meeting other dogs . I’m friendly and curious, even if I haven’t done close introductions yet. I’m good on leash and currently walk with a regular collar.
At home, I start out calm and quiet, then gradually explore more as I get comfortable. I’ll sometimes wander around the space, then choose my crate or bed when I’m ready to rest. I’m well-mannered and easy to live with, enjoying peaceful downtime between outings. I’m comfortable with everyday life skills: cars, elevators, and stairs don’t bother me at all, though bouncing balls like basketballs give me a bit of a scare. I’m still very brave about new environments overall and handle change better than you might expect from a shy girl like me.
