Hi! I’m Simba, a handsome 1 year old Cockapoo with a big heart and lots of personality. I love greeting my foster family with happy barks and always bring a toy as a welcome gift as it’s my way of showing love!
I’m a smart, playful boy who enjoys showing off my tricks (spin and roll over are my favorites, especially for treats). I have medium-high energy and love chew toys, puzzle games, and zooming around outside. I’m still working through typical puppy behaviors and can be a bit mischievous, but I’m eager to learn and improve.
I’m very affectionate and social, and I love being close to my people. I’m a total snuggle bug and will happily curl up in anyone’s lap or in my foster’s arms when I’m tired.
I’m fully house trained and doing well with overnight crate training, sleeping quietly and following my bedtime routine. Daytime crating is still a work in progress as I experience some anxiety, but I’m learning that the crate can be a positive place (especially with Kongs!).
I do have some leash reactivity when I see dogs because I’m just so excited to see them and want to say hello. Continued training will be important to help me with my confidence. When I originally came into care, I loved to counter surf, but with lots of patience and training from my fosters, I have made huge progress. With patience and consistency, I’ll continue to thrive.
I do well with other dogs and have been great with kids over 7. Since I can get very excited, older, dog-savvy children are best.
My ideal home would be active and able to provide plenty of mental and physical stimulation. A fully fenced yard and a non-attached home are preferred due to my barking. I’d enjoy having another dog for companionship, but I could also do well as an only dog. I may get overexcited in new environments, so I’ll need time and patience to settle in.
