Meet Ponyo! Ponyo is an energetic little firecracker with a big personality. She loves games like fetch and tug-of-war, and her zoomies are both hilarious and lightning fast. While she may bark a bit when meeting new dogs and people, she warms up quickly and enjoys playing once she’s comfortable (which doesn’t take long).
She gets along well with other dogs and does a great job respecting their boundaries when corrected. Despite her playful energy, Ponyo is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves to cuddle. She loves puzzles and enrichment toys as well! This helps mentally stimulate her and keep her busy on days where physical activities may not be possible.
Ponyo would thrive in an active home that can match her energy and zest for life. She’d make an amazing companion for a family or individual who enjoys outdoor activities especially hiking, where she can explore and burn off her energy.
Her ideal home would be with dedicated owners who are committed to continuing her training, including recall and basic manners. She’s food-motivated and eager, which makes her a great candidate for learning and building a strong bond through training.
Ponyo could do well as either an only dog or in a home with other dogs, as she socializes nicely and respects boundaries. While a fenced yard would be a bonus for safe playtime, it’s not a requirement as long as she gets plenty of exercise and enrichment. Ponyo does have some prey drive, so her future family will need to be mindful of that and committed to providing a secure environment so that she cannot run away.
