Hi, I’m Alaska! I’m a sweet senior girl with a loyal heart and a world-class husky howl when the mood strikes me!

When you come home, I’ll be there to greet you with tippy tap paws, kisses, and some excited yips and howls. I’m always happy to see my people and would be with them 24/7 if I could!

At this stage in life, I prefer a slow pace. I’m happiest with a few short walks throughout the day, followed by lots of time relaxing at home. I walk so beautifully on leash that sometimes you might forget I’m even attached to it. I’m happy to stroll beside you and enjoy the sights, fresh air, and the odd sniff, at my own pace. I also love car rides and will happily chill with you at a park or a patio to people watch. People love to tell me how beautiful I am. What can I say?

When I get home, I’m content just to bask in your presence. I’m not the type of dog who needs to live in your skin. I’m content just to be in the same room, and will occasionally jump up beside you for a quick pet before going back to my own bed to rest or to the window to watch the world go by.

Now, I do have a few strong opinions. First, brushing and taking medication are not my favourite activities. I can be a bit vocal with my complaints, but with some encouragement and patience, we can get the job done. Just don’t expect me to be happy about it.

Second, I love my people very much — and, in true husky fashion, I’m not shy about expressing my wants. If you need to leave me home by myself (how could you!), I can be a bit dramatic at first and will express my displeasure with some signature husky howls. You’re really gone and can’t hear me anymore? Fine. I settle well on my own, and can be left alone for a few hours at a time. Because I can be chatty though, a detached home would be the best fit for me.

Third, I’m a gal who likes to eat my meals in peace. My stance is simple: “What’s in my bowl is my business!” I’m most comfy enjoying my meals in my own space, thank you very much.

Because of some hip and front leg issues, I’m looking for a home without a lot of stairs. I’m up for shorter walks, but not long hikes or intense adventures.

What I would love is a quiet home where I can enjoy my golden years surrounded by love and companionship. After 11 years, what I want most is simply to be close to the ones I love. My perfect home would be calm and peaceful, with people who enjoy spending time at home, hanging out in the backyard, and appreciating the company — and occasional opinionated commentary — of a sweet senior husky. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who has plenty of love left to give, I’m your girl! 🐾💜
