Meet Anouk! This retired sled dog can be found either auditioning for the husky version of AirBud, chasing a ball, thinking about chasing a ball, or coming up with a convincing argument as to why she should be eating chicken, preferably while on a walk. She has transitioned seamlessly from the sled dog kennel life to indoor pet life.
Anouk is best as the only animal in the house but could potentially live with the right male dog. She typically does not like female dogs and is bossy with male dogs. Anouk is not a fit for public dog parks.
Anouk is her fosters’ personal alarm clock, bursting with enthusiasm as soon as their eyes open. A flurry of kisses and zoomies follows, quickly escalating into a persuasive campaign for a morning walk, which she inevitably wins. Throughout the day, she sleeps on her bed when you are working and if you start moving she starts craving affection and belly rubs. One touch sends her into pure bliss, as she melts into a puddle of contentment, eagerly exposing her tummy for more scratches.
Indoors, Anouk exhibits moderate energy levels. When her humans are occupied with work or other tasks, she’s content to relax and nap. However, her energy level noticeably increases during meal preparation. She’s constantly in motion, sniffing out culinary delights and eagerly anticipating potential scraps. Once outside, her energy level surges. She becomes incredibly playful, demonstrating impressive athleticism with high jumps to catch balls. Her boundless enthusiasm even extends to brief, comical attempts at bipedal walking. Anouk is an excellent hiking and adventure buddy.
Anouk is a picky eater (unless it’s chicken).
