Blazer is a happy little soul. He LOVES people and consistently wants your attention and affection. Blazer loves to be involved in your life and will be your bestfriend/little companion. From helping you while you clean, to cuddling on the couch next to you afterwards, he likes to be with his people no matter what you are doing. He is a goofy little dude and loves to run around jumping like a bunny. He knows how to sit, lie down, and shake a paw, but is cheeky and only does it when he feels like it.
Blazer is learning not to be nippy. When he isn’t getting the attention, exercise, or stimulation he wants, he jumps up and bites at your clothes, legs, and hands. He will need continued training to help him unlearn this behaviour.
Blazer is also learning to respect his crate. He needs an airliner because he will bend the bars and try to chew things through the bars. He struggles with short term separation from his people, but can also be fine for long periods of time. He barks initially being put in his crate but settles with limited noise. He also likes to have a white noise machine that helps keep him calm.
Blazer doesn’t understand how to properly interact with other dogs. He can be a bit annoying when meeting other dogs by darting at them and getting in their face. He would need slow exposure, ongoing training and the right dog to show him the ropes, if he was to have a dog friend/sibling.
Blazer loves walks, runs and outdoor activities. He needs several walks a day and mental stimulation (whether that is playing with toys or puzzle toys). He’s currently using a harness and a 15ft leash. A longer leash is ideal for him as he enjoys exploring his surroundings and rolling in the grass.
A house where he is the only pet with an active couple or individual would be the best home for Blazer. He needs someone who will be able to keep up with him physically and mentally as well as continue to work on his behaviors. Someone with experience when it comes to training a herding dog would also be preferable.
