Hi, I’m Chip! I’m a very sweet and gentle little girl. I can be a bit shy when meeting new people for the first time. I might wag my tail and then make a quick trip to my safe place, where I’ll roll onto my back to politely request a belly rub. Once I warm up to you, I have so much love to give.
I’m a quiet girl who enjoys the simple things in life. I love lying in the sunshine, taking cozy naps, snuggling, and following my humans around to keep an eye on what they’re doing. I do have one funny little quirk; I don’t like getting caught watching you! If you notice me observing you, I may suddenly decide I have somewhere else to be and scurry away. I wouldn’t want you to think I’m needy!😂
My crate is my safe space, and I’ll often go there on my own when I want somewhere quiet to relax. I’m also potty trained and wouldn’t dream of being destructive. I do enjoy collecting socks and bringing them to my bed, but don’t worry, I won’t chew them. They’re just part of my collection!
I’m still working on building my confidence outside the house and around new people and dogs, and I’m getting so much better! Walks in busy and noisy areas are still a bit nerve-wracking for me, but I’m trying hard to be brave. I wear a snug harness in case I get startled. Once I’m comfortable though, I really enjoy my walks and love stopping to sniff everything. I’m definitely not a speed walker, slow and sniffy is much more my style!
I’m looking for a calm and quiet home. I can be left home during a normal work day, but when my people are around, I love being close to them and getting plenty of cuddles. I’d do best with someone who is patient, understanding and ready to help me continue coming out of my shell and building my confidence.
I might enjoy having another calm and respectful dog around to show me that the world is safe, even when it’s busy and noisy, and bring out my playful side. But I’m also happy to be your one and only. More snuggles for me, right?
I haven’t met any kids yet, but I would likely be comfortable with children who understand that I need gentle interactions, inside voices, and a little space while I get to know them.
