Hi, I’m Dewy. If you’re looking for a gentle, easygoing companion with a sweet soul, I think we might be a perfect match.
When you come home, I’ll happily wander over for some head scratches and chest rubs. I’m not much of a jumper or barker, I’d rather quietly say hello and enjoy being close to my people. One of my favourite ways to ask for dinner is by giving you a gentle little nose “boop.” It usually works.
Most of the time I’m a pretty relaxed guy. You’ll often find me stretched out on my favourite window seat, watching the world go by. I absolutely love my walks and enjoy heading out a few times a day to sniff everything I can. Every now and then, I’ll surprise you with a case of backyard zoomies, especially if you decide to chase me around for fun! I’m also starting to discover that stuffy toys are pretty entertaining, and treats are an excellent way to convince me to learn something new.
I’m crate trained and sleep through the night without any trouble. During the day I can spend several hours in my crate, although I may sing you a little goodbye song before settling in for a nap. If you’re home and I can see you, I’m perfectly happy relaxing in my crate.
One thing you’ll need to know about me is that I’m quite the escape artist. If a door is left open, I may decide to investigate the outside world, and I’m surprisingly talented at getting through screens. Because of that, I’ll always need secure handling and should never be off leash in an unfenced area. I’m also still a little nervous around loud noises and sudden movements, so patient guidance will help me continue building confidence.
I’m wonderful on leash with my harness and double leash setup. I enjoy watching other dogs as we pass by, but squirrels, rabbits, birds, cats… and even blowing leaves are all very exciting to me! Sometimes I have opinions about which direction we’d REALLY like to walk, but I’m getting better every day.
My dream home would have a securely fenced yard where I can safely stretch my legs, and I think I’d really enjoy having another friendly dog to keep me company. Most of all, I’m looking for a patient family who will let me blossom at my own pace while helping me continue learning about the world. In return, I’ll give you gentle companionship, quiet affection, and plenty of sweet little nose boops.
