Hi, I’m Diesel! When you come home, I greet you with my best tippity-taps, a wagging tail, and gentle kisses. If you’ve been gone a little too long, I might burst into zoomies or jump up from excitement. I’m working on keeping all four paws on the floor, but I just get so happy to see my people.
Inside, I’m a pretty chill guy. I snooze most of the day, and I love lying beside you while you work or checking in every half hour just to make sure everything is okay. I also love looking out the window, it’s one of my favourite hobbies. If you can give me a good window view, I’ll happily supervise the whole neighbourhood. And if there’s snow? Oh boy. I’ll put my nose down and plow through it like a little snow machine, it’s the best!
I’ve got some funny quirks, too. I love car rides, maybe more than anything. If there’s an open car door anywhere in sight, I might try to hop in and go for an adventure, so my foster keeps a close eye on me. I’m also a bit of a sneak: I’m a perfect angel when you’re watching, but when no one’s looking, I might get into something I shouldn’t. What can I say? I’m smart… and a little naughty in the cutest way.
I’m a big boy, but I’m the definition of a gentle giant. I take treats with the softest little nibble, and even though I look tough, I’m all softness and love on the inside. I adore people, and I’ll make big pretty eyes at you when you’re eating, it works almost every time.
Crates aren’t for me, I’d much rather have some space to relax. I’m also still practicing a few things, like not destroying objects if I’m left alone too long and learning to chill when I see something interesting. I pull quite a bit on leash, especially if there’s something amazing to sniff or a squirrel to chase. Sometimes I’ll even sit and refuse to head home because I’m having too much fun outside. I’m strong, so my walker has to be confident and able to handle me. I’m learning, though!
I’m good with dogs but can sometimes be unsure, especially if one is walking behind me. I generally prefer calm greetings or just passing by. I’m not much of a cuddler or toy player. I’m more independent, and I like relaxing on my own terms. But I do love my people deeply, and I show it with the softest eyes and warmest presence when you walk through the door.
My dream home? Somewhere with space: a house or a large apartment, and a yard would be amazing but not required if I get consistent walks and adventures. I’d love humans who are home a lot, or who can give me things to do when they’re out. I’d be happiest with someone who enjoys car rides as much as I do and doesn’t mind that I’m strong on leash. And please give me a comfy spot by a window, it makes my whole day.
