Meet Dusty! Recently rescued from Manitoba due to the wildfires, this affectionate and sweet pup is now accepting applications for his forever home.
Dusty has some separation anxiety and must continue with his crate training in order to help with this. Currently, Dusty sleeps in his crate overnight with the door open. Dusty should be fed with a slow feeding mat or something similar as he eats extremely fast. This habit may change as he gets used to the fact that he will not be going hungry. He is also fed smaller meals more often (3 x daily). House training is still a work in progress.
As with all puppies, Dusty will play with things he’s not supposed to, like clothes and blankets if not careful. Redirecting him to the proper toys corrects this issue. Dusty does bark when faced with new situations so no apartment living for this guy.
Dusty lives with two other smaller dogs in his foster home. He wants to play with them but they find him too energetic. A home with a playful dog or where the owners are able to teach appropriate boundaries would be best. He does chase cats so would have to be taught appropriate boundaries.
