Hi, I’m Haven! A sweet, gentle girl who’s happiest just being close to my people.

When you come home, I’ll happily wander over to say hello and ask for some pets, but I’m not the type to bounce off the walls or bark like crazy. I’m pretty calm and easygoing overall. Honestly, my perfect evening is lounging on the couch with my humans, watching TV, and soaking up all the cozy vibes.

I’m your classic lab when it comes to food though, treats are VERY exciting around here. Sometimes I get so happy waiting for dinner that I do little hops while I wait. I also have a soft emotional side and will gently place my paw on your lap when I need a little reassurance or extra love.

I have a low to medium energy level. I enjoy walks a lot, but I don’t need marathon adventures to be happy. Two good walks a day and plenty of lounging time sounds pretty perfect to me. I even enjoy the occasional game of fetch… although I usually decide pretty quickly that relaxing is more my thing.

I’m crate trained and sleep comfortably in my crate at night and when left home alone. When I first arrived in foster care, I was pretty anxious and had trouble settling, but I’ve already come such a long way and am becoming more confident every day. Sometimes in new situations I can still feel a little unsure, so continuing to build my confidence and helping me feel safe will go a long way.

On walks, I’m honestly a dream. I love staying close to my person and don’t pull much unless a squirrel catches my attention. If I see another dog, I might let out some little snorts, sighs, or whines because I want to say hello, I’m just social and curious.

Because harnesses can irritate my skin, I currently walk best on a regular leash and collar setup. I’d thrive in a home where I can be part of the family and spend lots of time near my people. A backyard would be lovely, but I’d also do great in an apartment as long as I get my daily walks and cuddle time.

Mostly, I’m just looking for a calm, loving home where I can continue to feel safe, loved, and included.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal couch buddy with a soft heart… I think you should submit an application.
