I came into care as an owner surrender and I had trouble settling into foster care. I’m an anxious guy and have a fear of people that I don’t know. I take daily medication to help me with my anxiety. Once I am comfortable with you, I hope that we will be best friends. I’m very affectionate and like to give kisses and be wherever you are.
I’ve been told that I’m smart and very attentive to my handler. I’m very food motivated and even respond to kibble while on walks. I know basic commands and like to perform tricks for you. I can be redirected from the target of my anxiety with food. With the proper tools, I am great on leash. I’m working on being completely muzzle trained so that everyone can be safe and comfortable. I’m almost there! Did I mention that if I trust you, I will do anything for food?
Initially nervous, I am good with dogs when properly introduced and have lived with them both in foster care and in my previous home. I do have prey drive so no small animals, please.
I need a dog-savvy owner who will advocate for my space so that I don’t have to. I need to live where there is space for me to safely enter and exit my dwelling without accidentally running head-first into someone, so places like an apartment with a cramped hallway and elevators are not for me. I do have a bite history due to stranger introductions being rushed. Full details will be provided to potential suitable applicants.
I really do try to be the best boy. The world is just scary place sometimes and I struggle. Any adoption will come with the team’s ongoing support.
