Hi, I’m Miko! I’m an independent yet sweet Shiba Inu. When you come home, I’ll greet you with jumps, whines, and maybe even a bark to show how excited I am to see you!
I have a relaxed but medium energy level, with playful bursts in the evening. I’m a fantastic communicator and will politely let you know when I’m hungry or need to go outside. I like to shadow you around the house, but I also appreciate my personal space. In typical Shiba fashion, I’ll pull away to let you know if I need a little break from pets. Mornings are extra special because I might join you for some cozy companionship.
I love car rides and will happily hop in for an adventure! I also love learning new tricks, and since I’m very treat-motivated, I’d be thrilled to continue training with my new family. I’ve got some pretty cool tricks up my paw! I know how to sit, lie down, roll over, play dead, jump, crawl, and turn around. I’ve learned to identify hand gestures to follow commands. Just show me the signal, and I’m ready to show off my skills.
I bark at noises or knocks at the door to keep us safe, but I’m trying to learn that not every sound needs my attention. I also like to keep my space from other dogs due to some bad past experiences and can be reactive, so I’d prefer a home where I can be the only dog.
A walk (I’m great on a leash!) followed by a calm day at home sounds perfect to me. Give me a comfy spot to relax when I need downtime, and I’ll be happy to quietly hang out near you.
I’d do best in a calm home without other pets. I need a family that understands my need for personal space and advocates for it. An apartment could work as long as you’re mindful of keeping me away from other dogs.
