Hi, I’m Penny! I’m a sweet, gentle girl who is happiest when I’m close to my people. I especially love cuddling with my foster dad and soaking up all the affection I can get. I’m also a very good girl when it comes to being brushed, which is pretty handy.
I’m a pretty low-key lady with a low-medium energy level. I enjoy my walks and absolutely LOVE meeting other dogs. In fact, if I had it my way, I’d probably follow every friendly dog I meet all the way home! I walk very nicely on leash and harness and love taking my time to sniff and explore along the way.
I’m also starting to discover the joy of toys! I’ve recently become interested in stuffies, so I’m slowly figuring out this whole “playing with toys” thing. I’m not particularly food motivated right now, but who knows, maybe my forever family will discover the magic treat that wins me over.
My crate is actually one of my favourite places and my go-to spot when I want to relax. I can also be a little sensitive to sudden loud noises, so having someone who is patient, understanding, and willing to gently reassure me something startles me will help me feel safe. With positive encouragement and consistency, I can slowly build my confidence and learn that I’m safe in my new surroundings.
I’m friendly when meeting new people and have been very sweet with everyone I’ve met. I’ve only encountered children at the park so far, but since I am startled easily perhaps older respectful children could be an option.
My ideal home would be a quieter one without a lot of hustle and bustle. I’d love to have humans who enjoy a calm lifestyle and, even better, another friendly dog who can help show me that life is pretty great. I’m looking for a family who will give me time to settle in, lots of cuddles, and the chance to simply enjoy being a dog.
