Meet Roxy!

Roxy is the kind of dog who makes every homecoming feel like the best part of your day. She’ll greet you with full body excitement (watch out, she might try to barrel you over in her joy!), but once that initial celebration is over, she settles beautifully and patiently waits while you get her harness on for a walk.

She enjoys her walks and takes her sniffing duties seriously, but after that she’s all about cozy time. Whether she’s chewing on a treat or curled up beside you, Roxy is happiest when she’s close to her people.

And when we say close, we mean it. If Roxy could live in your skin, she probably would! She’s a total cuddle bug who loves sneaking under blankets and resting her head on your legs. She’s also a perfect companion for chill evenings, especially if you’re into scary movies or video games. When she’s really happy, she shows off her adorable toothy grin, her signature smile.

Roxy is a social butterfly who loves saying hello to everyone she meets, both humans and dogs. After a quick sniff and some pets, she’s happy to continue on her way. She’s still working on her leash manners, she may pull when excited and sometimes bark at dogs she can’t greet, but she’s improving and learning to ignore them.

Prior to intake, we were told Roxy may show resource guarding; however, she hasn’t lived with another dog while in our care, so this hasn’t been observed.

Currently living in an apartment, Roxy can be sensitive to hallway noises and may give some loud alert barks. She’ll do best with someone who understands this and can help her feel safe and secure.

If you’re looking for a part-time couch potato, Roxy is your girl!
