Hi, I’m Shylo! A smart, active guy looking for someone who’s ready to keep both my brain and my legs busy.
When my foster lets me out of my crate, I know the routine. First I sit politely, then the door opens and I’m off to find my beloved Kong bone. I love structure, routines, and knowing what comes next. My crate is my safe space, and I sleep quietly through the night and relax comfortably when my humans leave the house.
If I know you’re home without me, though? Well… I can get a little case of FOMO. Thankfully, my favourite podcast, The Diary of a CEO, helps me settle down while I wait.
I have a lot of energy and an even bigger brain. Fetch is honestly a little too basic for me. I much prefer activities that make me think, like food puzzles, bones, training games, and chasing a flirt pole.
I’m the kind of dog who wants a job to do and adventures to go on. My foster jokes that I’m secretly a Border Collie in disguise because I thrive when I have both physical exercise and mental stimulation.
I’m also a pretty funny guy. I love rolling around in the grass so much that my eyebrows sometimes turn green. I get excited when I hear the words “hotel room” because that’s what my foster calls my crate. I snore when I sleep and I am always ready for my next puzzle or chew.
On walks, I’m fantastic when there aren’t other dogs around. I walk with a loose leash and enjoy exploring calmly beside my person. The challenge I’m still working through is dog reactivity. I’ve made a lot of progress, but I’ll need a family who understands that training is a journey, not a quick fix.
Consistency, patience, and continued training will help me keep building confidence and good habits around other dogs.
My ideal home would have a fenced yard where I can run and play, plus people who enjoy staying active. I’d love daily walks, hikes, enrichment games, training sessions, and plenty of opportunities to use my brain.
Most importantly, I need adopters who are committed to helping me continue my progress with dog reactivity and who understand that investing time into me will pay off in a big way.
I’m an incredibly rewarding dog for the right person. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion who wants to be your adventure buddy, training partner, and biggest fan, I might just be your perfect match. 🐾
