Meet Snow! Originally a shelter pull, Snow is loving his life in foster care. He is very excited to see his fosters when they come home and is working on not jumping up to greet them.

Despite being 9 years old, Snow has puppy-like curiosity and playfulness, including being chased and playing fetch with his many stuffies which is very unusual for a husky! Typical for a husky though he isn’t likely to have good recall off leash so playing fetch in a fenced an area or while on a long line is best.  He knows his basic commands and responds well to training with treats and to verbal corrections.

During the day Snow is fairly high energy and will follow around people wherever you go in the house, so he won’t relax and nap unless the people around are also relaxing. However, once relaxed he is incredibly snuggly and affectionate. Snow may become more relaxed around his owners as he learns he’ll be staying with them.

Snow has been great with kids and babies – gentle and kind, though quite energetic or overly interested at times. Older kids only please as Snow is likely to knock over small children.

Snow is currently underweight and does need some encouragement to eat kibble. He does love his treats as long as he isn’t too excited by something.

Currently living with a female husky, Snow initially had to be corrected as he tried to mount her. He does get overly excited by other dogs and will try to mount. This can be easily corrected. Snow has also displayed minor resource guarding over food towards the dog he lives with and should be fed separately to avoid any escalation.
