Breed: Husky x Bernese mix
Age: 2 years old
Energy level: Low to medium (with a few zoomies included!)
✅Dogs✅Cats✅Older kids
Medical & Special Considerations: Yuna has hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis that require ongoing support. Currently, she receives:
Gabapentin (daily)
Omega 3 supplements (daily)
Cartrophen injections (monthly)
Metacam as needed.
After working hard on strengthening her muscles with her fosters, she is now able to comfortably manage some stairs in the home. That being said, it is important for adopters to be prepared for her mobility needs to evolve as she ages. She does also have allergies, but they are well-managed with a special diet. She does take Apoquel but it isn’t required regularly.

Meet Yuna – Your Gentle, Goofy, Heart-melting Companion

Yuna has been with us since July, quietly waiting for someone to see just how incredible she truly is. Once a timid, shut-down girl, she has blossomed into a soft, affectionate, goofy sweetheart who greets her people with “Aroo”s, happy wiggles, and full-body tail swishing. She loves to lean in for bum scratches, gentle hip rubs, and will nuzzle your hand for more pets. Once Yuna trusts you, she forms a deep and steady bond – she’s one of those rare dogs that feel like a soul connection.

Inside the home, Yuna is a cozy companion. She’s her happiest self when curled up beside her person or napping at their feet. Outdoors, she enjoys her walks and gets adorable little bursts of zoomie energy. Overall though, she is a very manageable, mellow girl energy-wise.

Yuna thrives when she has another dog in the home. She loves gentle play, chase, tug-o-war, and curling up with her canine foster siblings for naps. She also gets along quite well with the cat in her foster home.

Overall, she has lovely manners, but she is still learning (aren’t we all?). She is working on being polite with her ‘mouthiness’ when she’s excited or asking for attention, and can be a bit sensitive to quick movements around her collar, head, and paws. With patience and predictable handling, as well as her compassionate fosters, she continues to gain confidence in these areas everyday.

Yuna has made huge progress with her crate training. She now eats all her meals in her crate, goes in on her own throughout the day, and often chooses to lie down in there to relax. While she still needs practice with longer-duration stays, she has come incredibly far and is building positive associations every day. With continued consistency and patience, we fully believe she can become fully crate-trained in her forever home.

Despite Yuna’s needs, she has a spirit that is bright, joyful, and resilient. Her care is ongoing but very manageable. What Yuna needs most is someone willing to maintain her routine and monitor her comfort. And in return, she will give unwavering loyalty, love, and affection.
